PRF Missions Ministry
"...go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19
It is this command and the desire to see God given the honor due Him in all the world that puts missions in the heart of Pedernales River Fellowship. John Piper says that "missions exists because worship does not," meaning that there are many places here and abroad where God is not worshipped as He deserves to be, so the people of PRF are about the business of making God famous throughout the earth.
Our most recent mission effort is supporting the work of Hailey Bland, staff member with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Kona, Hawaii. Hailey grew up at Pedernales River Fellowship and now serves as a full-time discipler and team leader for students in YWAM's Community Transformations Discipleship Training School (CommTrans DTS). She has recently returned from leading a team to Kathmandu, Nepal and is gearing up for the start of another CommTrans DTS. Check out Hailey's website to learn more, and please consider supporting her prayer and financial needs.
Love-n-Care Ministries, International
Each year we are blessed by a visit from Pastor P. Yesupadam and his wife Monika from Visakhapatnam, India. Yesupadam is the founder and director of Love-n-Care Ministries which provides orphanages, schooling, Christian training and health care to India's poorest of the poor. Many of our people immediately connected with Yesupadam and Monika and have committed to future trips to India to help out with the ministry there.
In November 2008, a team of 11 went on a medical mission trip to Love-N-Care which was incredibly successful. Click here to see a brief report from our time there.
Granite Shoals, TX / Piedras Negras, Mexico
We have an ongoing relationship with an Hispanic church in Granite Shoals, Primera Iglesia Bautista Calvario, and work with them to support a mission church in Piedras Negras, Mexico. The church in Granite Shoals is undergoing some remodeling and we have sent teams to help with the electrical work on their new building. You can also help with their building by stopping by their campus sometime and purchasing some of their delicious tacos.
We have worked closely with an orphanage in Juarez, Mexico. It has been a great joy to visit there on several occasions to do construction work and spend time with our friends there.
We have partnered with missionaries in Taiwan to prayerwalk areas of Taipei and distribute evangelistic videos at the national Lantern Festival.
