Get Involved in Community Ministry

Our PRF community care aims to meet needs in our Spicewood church family during a time of illness, crisis or life change, and to provide opportunities for you to serve others. Below is a list of team(s) where you can get involved. Contact the PRF office to get started!

Meals That Heal - a group gathers on a quarterly basis to prepare meals to offer to families during a time of convalescing, deaths, new members of the family or other life events.

New Beginnings Resource Room - located on the PRF campus, this place is designated for baby and children items that Foster parents or struggling families will need to care for children.

Prayer Team - prays for those receiving and giving care

S.O.S. - email-based, helps with providing items needed during life-changes or recovery

Saturday Serve – Church members and non-members are invited to join a group that will serve someone needing special skills or just visitation. Past events have included visits to nursing homes, building decks, completing a honey-do list for an ill person, and cleaning up after the Labor Day fires in 2011.

God of Hope Prison Ministry -  The God of Hope Ministries provides Christian care to men and women incarcerated in Austin and the central Texas area.  They strive to meet the needs of the total person so that inmates can attain their highest potential in all aspects of their lives―emotional, social, financial, and spiritual.  PRF partners with God of Hope to provide volunteers who act as mentors to specific inmates.  For more information about this ministry, please contact Tres Sansom.

South Austin Pregnancy Resource Center - This organization helps meet the needs (emotional, spiritual, material) of mothers-to-be and new moms in the South Austin region.  From free medical care to Bible studies to providing diapers and car seats, SAPRC is changing lives of young women.  PRF partners with SAPRC in a variety of ways, from collecting needed items to volunteering on site.   Please contact Tres Sansom for more ways to get involved with this ministry.

Street Youth Ministry of Austin - SYM meets the needs of young people on the streets of downtown Austin.  From providing cold weather response teams in the winter to taking sandwiches to Bible studies, PRF partners with SYM in multiple ways.  Please contact Tres Sansom to find ways to get active with Austin's homeless.
